Plants for Shady Places
Many gardens have shady places or are totally shaded by large trees and buildings. There are many degrees of shade from dappled under birch trees to deep shade under maples or from buildings. There are plants adapted to grow in shady locations such as deep under a forest canopy. Often these plants will need rich, moist soil, such as what they would have under the trees in the forest. Get to know your sites and check tags for shade / sun requirements. Try some of these plants for your shade locations.
